Android

Can Safe mode be used to get around Kids Mode?

Yes. In Safe mode, Android turns off all downloaded apps, including Kids Mode, and no app can prevent that. To close this gap, set a screen lock PIN or password on this phone that your child doesn't know. After any restart, including a restart into Safe mode, the phone asks for that PIN or password before fingerprint or face unlock works, so your child can't use the phone in Safe mode.

The app is not working/stopped working

Check if you granted all the permissions required by Kids Mode. On Xiaomi/Redmi devices grant permission "display popup when running in the background"

Website blocking

Currently, The website blocking is supported in Chrome, Opera, Edge, Brave and Mozilla Firefox.

What if I buy the PRO version and uninstall the app ?

PRO version is linked to your Google Play Store account. If you are loggedin to Play Store with the same account you used to make the purchase, PRO features will stay even after reinstall.

How to block Phone Settings

iOS doesn't let any app block Settings, but there are two ways to stop your child from turning Kids Mode off there.

Option 1: Use a Shortcut

Create an automation that opens Shortcuts whenever Settings is opened. As long as Shortcuts isn't one of your child's allowed apps, Kids Mode blocks it. Follow the steps below.

Creating Automation:

1. Open Shortcuts app 2. Select the Automation tab 3. Click "Plus" icon 4. Select "App" from the list 5. For the "App" parameter choose "Settings" from the App list 6. Check "Is Opened", "Run Immediately" and uncheck "Notify when run" 7. Click Next 8. On the "Actions" screen click "New Blank Automation", click "Add Action", seach for "Open App" and select it 9. Click "App" next to "Open" select "Shortcuts" 10. Confirm with Done

Blocking Settings:

1. Open Kids Mode 2. Make sure Shortcuts isn't one of your child's allowed apps 3. Start Kids Mode. Opening Settings now leads to the blocked Shortcuts app

Option 2: Lock Screen Time with a passcode

Open Settings > Screen Time, tap Lock Screen Time Settings and set a passcode your child doesn't know. Without that passcode, Screen Time settings can't be changed, so Kids Mode can't be turned off there.

Check for Conflicting Restrictions

If the app is not functioning as expected, ensure that you haven't set restrictions on the selected apps in other apps or through the iOS native Screen Time feature. Conflicting restrictions can prevent the app from working correctly.
